Trail Building and MTO
Over the past 2 years, the Club has embarked on the development of an MTB trail network on the MTO property, between Cairnbrogie and SanParks in Harkerville, Garden Route.
Through the sale of MTO passes, over the past 5 years, the Club generated enough funds to initiate the construction of the first few trails. The Club was then approached by NUK, a company distributing baby products, to sponsor a trail: The Dummy Run became the first trail.
Thereafter, the interest grew and a number of donors came on board and sponsored a variety of different trails. These are listed below:
Today, the Club has built over 25kms of hand built trails. Because of the fact that the location is in a plantation forest, no machinery was allowed to be used. This meant that every berm , turn , jump, etc has been hand built by a dedicated team of 5 builders, who put their heart and sole into what they do. They are now well experienced to build world class trails. Meet the team below: |
